Hexed (Sweden)

 Hexed (Sweden)

The Swedish band Hexed comes to us with a melodic and quite progressive proposal, with its female vocalist that really surprises us with its vocal record of excellent size, and they know how to combine extreme choirs and choruses with more melody but with masculine voices that really They give a touch of sophistication in their music, remember that the Uppsala band formed since 2015 seeks to break into the market of its genre and are very well on track. Highly recommended.

Envinya (Germany)

Envinya (Germany)

Magical, exciting and sexy – this is Envinya on their new album “The Harvester”. The sextet from Munich with the exceptional female singer Mery Diaz Serrano fits only partially in the genre of countless other “female fronted metal bands”. Musically the songs are clearly at home in the classic melodic metal, but the guitarist Thomas and Mike often poach in much harder shores, making the sound totally independent and innovative.
Founded in 2006, they released in 2013 their debut “Inner Silence”, which was already well known world wide.
Live they showed their competence already well before bands such as Fiddlers Green, Tanz-wut and Pro pain. With “The Harvester” they show for what Envinya stands today: innovation, charisma and explosiveness.

Inflammare (Germany)

Inflammare (Germany)

Inflammare - "In Memory Of" Speaking honestly when I had started to listen to “In Memory Of” it appeared slightly boring to me. Probably it happened because of the opening track “Shadowlands” which is mid-tempo, long and monotonous. But after that Inflammare presents a pack of good melodic blackened metal tracks in the best traditions of 90’s. It includes atmospheric riffage with background keys and very beautiful parts on acoustic guitar. Vocal screams “Winter!” and you imagine yourself alone between the snowy field. Such kind of tracks is very good to immerse yourself in memories and dreams. But you should not think that this release is kind of meditative! Atmosphere is absolutely changes from the track “Glory in Battle”. Yeah, battles, armies, swords and death to enemies! All of this sounds like a blackened Manowar (ha-ha) and it’s not bad. This release probably is not outstanding but absolutely honest. And when Inflammare on the track “Meaning of Life” singing “Metal is our religion and we will die for it!” I believe them. Good job!

Castigator (Germany)

Castigator (Germany)

The Recommencement is the EP. of Castigator of melodic death thrash directly from Hamburg German lands. Castigator is Tim: Vocals/Bass, Matze: Drums, Simon: Guitar. A band that mixes the most extreme death metal with all the possible melody in a formidable way, and adding thrash as a key element in its sound. Melodic guitars and amazing solos, a drummer that never slows down, a sublime but solid bass giving a great base to each song, and a voice that is heartbreaking and guturl depending on the occasion of each song. Short but brutal themes on the set of the Germans: The Recommencement instrumental Sinner God in the Machine Opus Magnum Show lyrics I Am the Law Recall that the label of this band is Bound By Modern Age Records also German. An impeccable record that continues to make clear that Germany is still at the forefront of emerging bands of extreme world metal.

Grey Skies Fallen (Usa)

Grey Skies Fallen (Usa)

Grey Skies Fallen CD “The Many Sides Of Truth”  Melodic Doom/Death Metal with Progressive Elements. Originally known as Eve Of Mourning in 1996 and quickly changing their name to Grey Skies Fallen in 1997. This is another band that has been dwelling in the deepest catacombs of the underground honing their craft. With already 2 demos, 1 single, 2 eps, & 3 albums under their belt Grey Skies Fallen deliver a truly thought provoking and masterful piece of work that has a primal and organic feel!!! The band is influenced by such metal acts as Opeth, Katatonia, My Dying Bride, & Anathema,... however truly have a sound and approach that is all their own with many non-metal influences. I personally feel anybody who enjoys almost any form of metal or listens to music with an open mind will find this album not only enjoyable but thought provoking and truly challenging to the listener. Most impressive!!!!! WELCOME TO THE MANY SIDES OF TRUTH!  Features members of Buckshot Facelift!!!!
