UnholyMass (Brazil)

UnholyMass (Brazil)
CD."In Nomine Satanas"

UnholyMass Name of the band and CD."In Nomine Satanas" respectively. A masterpiece of the dark black metal genre of quite obscurity and paganism, an album that takes you from the strongest sensations to the same incarnate hatred. Music executed to perfection in all its lines and a true cult of death that great machine of darkness never stops in ear the album prepare for this very brutal devastation. They continue to lead the extreme metal bands the task of receiving the witness of many bands that implanted a genre and that now many make them more interesting and notorious.

Tenebra Arcana (Italy)

Tenebra Arcana (Italy)
CD."Martiri dell'odio"

"Martiri dell'odio" is the name of the album so essential for fans of melodic or symphonic black metal. A sound that surrounds you and consumes you the melody in this album is predominant and huge, COF Cradle of Flith lovers can love this band, from Italy we are getting a lot of band immersed in the extreme sound without leaving behind the melody and all that great symphonic sound that they know how to mix with the most ardent and dark hell of the world's extreme metal. The Heathen Black Metal Label "Vacula Production" continues to choose its signings very well and from Ukrania they always look for the best projects. The most melodic passages of this disc where they combine melodic and not so torn voices make a total atmosphere of darkness, songs sung in total Italian is a novelty for a market saturated with bands that only sing in English, few dare to sing in their language Natal and this bet really pleases me and makes this huge band interesting and very unique.

Vehementor (North Macedonia)

Vehementor (North Macedonia)
CD."Dungeons of Grotesque Symmetry"

From North Macedonia comes a death sound influenced by thrash. Macedonoa's mother saw this great Vehementor band born. Practitioners of a metal with a renewed sound and very worked with a lot of melody present many of the themes of their album: "Dungeons of Grotesque Symmetry" from the year 2019, and which I can break down below so that later you can decide whether to give them the ok to hear and headbanging. This album was co-made on MurdHer Records in the country of the boot Italy with only 500 limited copies and went on sale specifically on June 24, 2019. Well sharpened guitars and basses, riff worked and very influenced by tup melodic death of yesteryear and in other songs you can hear how the bass always accompanies and they end up executing the most brutal thrash you can imagine. Quite brutal is the performance of the percussion where never a single note that this great drummer gives us can be wasted, and a colossal powerful and very well worked for the guttural, makes it an amalgam of sounds and a compendium of good characteristics as a band that are reflected in a final product that is their record of great invoice. 9 brutal melodic dark themes and extreme enough for the most demanding ears, I can particularly recommend you to be hooked, greetings and metal.

Lilyum (Italy)

Lilyum (Italy)
CD."Circle Of Ashes"

Torino this beautiful city in Italy brings us its best proposal of black metal of its old school without half measures. Lilyum a black metal with a very apocalyptic and enveloping sound you are caught by the dark atmosphere and death as soon as you start spitting out all its dishes, without having anything to envy to better known bands of the scene, and really produces a huge impact on its sound all the chaos that you are perceiving theme afterleavee without being able to escape from so much evil. We can highlight all the dark atmosphere of the great Italian band and we can make it clear that few bands of this scene that is growing, I mean the Italian has this level of depth and that great interest that can generate you to listen and inquire more about this proposal, I can recommend: "Circle Of Ashes" his most recent album represents and offers all his condensed proposal, Kosmos Reversum gives a sample of all his talent being responsible for each of the instruments and Lord J. H. Psycho also collaborating on all instruments and excelling in the voices, recommended one hundred percent.

Abyssus (Greece)

Abyssus (Greece)
CD."Once Entombed..."

The album "Once Entombed..." Is presented with considerable weight and firmly. of the original band from Athens, Greece, a band that will break down this sick album below. ABYSSUS incredible band formed in 2011 that pays tribute and tribute to that sound of the late 80s and early 90s. This band usually includes in its discs and splits covers of legendary bands and adapting the sound of those bands to their own truth that they are executioners, they know how to do it and it makes it too bestial. 19 songs 5 of them covers make up this huge album that from start to finish takes you through an old school sound so brutal that it never disappoints. I am very excited that these old school sounds are preserved and greatly renewed in bands like that. You must listen to this album to understand its description. Powerful vocals always without fainting and without halftones, incredible brutal riff bass and guitars that do not faint and of course a battery that is a true demolition machine. I recommend this incredible album if you are an external follower.

Abyssus (Greece)
EP. "Unleash the Storm"

Again we have here the Greeks severe and incredible in sound. Crushing, powerful and mega bestial is the sound of this band with such a trajectory. The next ep "Unleash the Storm" is a real truck passing over all the force of death metal annihilating your bones, perhaps that is the feeling that this brutality of music transmits. I would like to review with you the set list of the ep that included two separate covers including one of the glorious Bathory: - Operation Ranch Hand -Unleash the Storm -The Rite of Darkness (Bathory cover) -Open the Gates (Manilla Road cover) -Warhead (Venom cover) Athens gave birth to this beastly band and it truly represents in an excellent way the sound of the old school extreme something very rich and virtuous that never loses its primitive and direct touch kicking your face again and again. Dedicate minutes of life to this ep you will not regret.

Abyssus (Greece)
CD.Split."Sign of the Covenant of Death"

The legendary Greeks faithful to old school metal and delivering a dose of brutal death. You can check out his 2019 Split "Sign of the Covenant of Death" for an excellent incredible sound just like it came out of your old tape deck. Diabolic and very virtuous guitars, a lot of brutal riff and a lot of solos that dictate teaching. A battery that has an extreme brutality that blends with the sickest and most powerful voice that you can simply have an exquisite split for all those lovers of old school death metal. Let us remember for those who do not know the creators of this bestiality, I will refresh you here: Kostas Analytis Vocals, Lyrics Panos Gkourmpaliotis Guitars, Songwriting Coasts Ragiadakos Bass Christos Liakos Guitars Jan Westermann Drums If you like Obituary, Bolt Thrower and you are a follower of the old death school you will really enjoy this split.

Angrenost (Italy)

Angrenost (Italy)
CD."Where Only Shadows Remain"

Angrenost Italians remind me of the beginnings of Dimmu Borgir especially in his voice and atmosphere. A very melodic and epic black metal of the disc: Where only shadows Remain excellent plate that they bring us just out of the oven very beastly and brutal, the caliber of this sound and the sick and violent execution of this great album have to be qualified. The melodic and extreme and frenetic sound never stop and really to be an independent production because it does not leave bad and has the necessary quality to know how brutal of each of the tracks I recommend it completely.

Hyrgal (France)

Hyrgal (France)
CD."Serpentine"

Hyrgal comes from France. This brutal black ametaltmospheric and violent to the core that encloses us with its long duration below presented. The epic album "Serpentine" is a succulent piece of black metal, songs that sound glorious and epic that take you on a journey to the very edge of the universe. "Till, Rite, Aux, Mouroir" some songs that take you ♪ placing the entire album and letting it fly through your imagination. Black metal with filthy and murky voices, rugged melodies, insane riff and a drums that never rests like a litany that is repeated until the end of time. A direct sound, cold and unrefined with nothing in between and with the perfect touch of mysticism that makes you go to space in the midst of its dark atmosphere. Recommended only for lovers of the genre.

Hyrgal (France)
CD.Split "Bâ'a / Verfallen / Hyrgal"

This black metal atmospheric and violent to the core that encloses us with its split below presented. Hyrgal present: CD.Split "Bâ'a / Verfallen / Hyrgal" Black metal with filthy and murky voices, rugged melodies, insane riff and a drums that never rests like a litany that is repeated until the end of time. A direct sound, cold and unrefined with nothing in between and with the perfect touch of mysticism that makes you go to space in the midst of its dark atmosphere Césure / Sicaire They are two incredible themes that represent each band and leave it on top of the dark throne of black. The splits are always interesting, they show us music from bands that perhaps we will never hear but in this format.

AntroNero (Italy)

AntroNero (Italy)
CD."Bagliori Nel Buio"

AntroNero these Italians present us with a sensational album that since its inception is a hymn to total darkness. "Bagliori Nel Buio" is the name of this excellent plaque of this band. An impeccable production and masterful execution. Deadly guitars and bass. A very old school battery and deadly moments. And voices that combine with the guttural as well clean choirs. Black metal without waste and forcefulness in each note. Only heartbreaking as well as its main voice very well executed. We could say that it is an intelligent black metal that transmits you the essence of the darkest and most complex style within our beloved metal. Recommended for those souls already lost in the darkness of this world.

Written in Blood (Netherlands)

Written in Blood ( Netherlands )
CD."Written in Blood"

Written in Blood the Dutch death metallers give us a fairly well-worked, solid and forceful sound, it also presents melodic sounds and of course they manage to amalgamate everything extreme with a melody that becomes such an exquisite and brutal sound at the same time. The self-titled album "Written in Blood" gives us nine songs, each one more brutal than the next one achieved in its gestation in December 2022, with a sound that I can recommend for all those lovers of the most classic sound of melodic death and great invoice when you manage to appreciate all this disc. If you are looking for some melodic death sound standard, here you will be able to find it and you will have added sounds as dark and abysmal as well as a misanthropy that is not disdained, making this whole album a sublime integral sound. Before I go I recommend songs like "Germánic" "Wilde Jacht" and "Return of the Ancient Gods" brutalities embodied in the audio of this great album recommended for deathlovers.

Written In Blood (Netherlands)

T: How did you decide to create the band and why?

W: The plan to start a new band was already in my head for years but I kept pq moving this plan forward because I thought I had no time for a new band. At a sudden point it was enough, and I called a few guy's which whom I played before. And so Written in Blood was started.

T: What influences did they have from the beginning?

W: I did not have really a band in mind to get influenced by. One thing was clear , that we wanted to make Deathñ Metal with some melodic parts in it. The music ended up with mainly Swedish death metal as influence I think. But from the moment I started writing the first song there was not a master plan or something like that.

T: How much time do you dedicate to music in your life?

W: After I quit God Dethroned I did nothing for years besides listening to metal of course. Later I tried some small projects, but that ended up nowhere. For now, running the band it takes many hours. It's not only writing songs but also do the promotion and trying to get gigs. You must see it like a second job almost.

T: How has the process of recording your CD."Written in Blood" been?

W: Most of the songs were written during the "corona pandemic" so I had plenty of time to write the songs. The drums where recorded in the same studio as where we recorded the first few God Dethroned albums. Guitar, Bass and vocals we did at home, as many bands do nowaday's. Later we did the mix and mastering in the same studio as were we recorded the drums. The owner is a good frienf of us so it was a pleasure to work there once more.

T: What are your musical influences?

W: Personaly I prefer the European metal above north American metal in general. Specific if we talk about death metal. I often listen to bands like, Hypocrisy, At the gates, Carcass. But also some black metal bands like Watain, Immortal and so on.

T: What is the music you listen to the most?

W: Like I said in my answer to the band that influence me. But I probably listen even more to bands where I grew up with, like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Venom and so on.

T: How much time do you dedicate to the composition and structure of an album like "Written in Blood"?

W: I really don't know how many hours this takes. But for me the arrangement of the songs are important. It can take a few day's before I am satisfied with the structure of a song. But with some songs it is done in a matter of hours.

T: Your band's sound is very special with extreme sounds and old school sounds or how would you define it?

W: I think Rock Hard Magazine from Germany described it the best way. Death metal, rough, dark, abysmal, misanthropic, dismissive.

T: What do you think about the current underground metal scene?

W: Difficult to give an opinion about that. From one side there are maybe too many bands. From the other end, can there be too many bands? I can say, the scene is not like it used to be but things change and it is supposed to be like that. Did it change for good or bad? everyone can have their own opinion about that.

T: What do you know about the Latin American metal scene?

W: To be honest, almost nothing. The only thing I know is that metal is popular in Latin America and there are many young followers compared to for example Europe. Maybe you Latin Americans can tell the young Europeans to change into metalheads.

T: How about the support of Trollzorn Records with the making of your CD. "Written in Blood"?

W: Their support was realy good. They spend a good deal of time and effort in Written in Blood, and we thank them for that.
Not in making the album of course, but the promotion I mean.

T: What is the band preparing for its immediate future?

W: We are working to release some singles in the near future, from half of July. With this we want to make another approach to promote our music. Instead of having a full CD every 1 1/2 or 2 years we want to try to keep the focus from the fans on the band by releasing a single every 2 months or so. And then in the end release a hard copy album for the collectors.

T: Thank you very much for your time and I ask you to greet your followers of The Legion of TchorT 'Zine, thank you very much.

W: Thank you very much for the interview. All hails to the Latin American fans from Written in Blood. One day we hope we get the chance to come over to you guy's and play some live shows. Cheers!! Best regards and cheers, z

Gôr Mörgûl (Italy)

Gôr Mörgûl (Italy)
CD."Elohim"

2019 was a year that gave us a lot of metal the pre pandemic year where we would be able to hear so much brutal material from all over the planet, and it was so much that even in 2020 in the middle of the world situation we continue to appreciate brutal records from last year. Today I bring you "Elohim" from the overwhelming band (Gôr Mörgûl) practitioners of well-known blackened or black death metal style, whatever tastes or preferences define each one of this style, but they manage to combine the dark characteristics of the black sound with the brutality and the ruthless impact of death metal. The band manages to create a sound that transmits chaos, violence and hatred in the midst of the darkest atmosphere, thus achieving the true communion of these two extreme genres within the metal universe. A vocalization of 10 points always impressing you from theme to theme by advancing on the album, huge and super virtuous riffs, no bad performances, they are impeccable and admirable, a crushing bass according to the style and a drummer of another dimension never faints and reaches to report even more the global sound of the band. Important point to take into account his first theme: + I Begin, the second: + Elohim "namesake the album" and the third theme: + Portal To Underworld Each of these songs hook you or unhook you, depending on whether you liked the band or not, since they set the tone for the overall sound of the album. In general lines I recommend them excellent metal of great invoice, health and metal.

Golgota (Sweden)

Golgota (Sweden)
CD."Skam"

Golgota cult soundtrack, a true procession to death is what comes to my mind when I hear the first notes of its long duration: "Skam" of the year 2019 is incredible the ferocity and the dark atmosphere that this band generates so easily . "Asked" "Skam" "Job" "Skuld" "vinterbarn" Some of the tracks that struck my attention when I first listened and were stumped by a sound so deep it can easily surround you. Instrumentally executed masterfully harrowing voices always coupled with epic choruses that feed the morbid sound in general achieving brutality to an incredible extent. If you like dark sounds and you are to experience I recommend it regardless of whether you like black or not, you can give an opportunity to delve into the underworld of this brutal band.
