Leviathan A.C. (Spain)

Leviathan A.C. (Spain)
CD."God’s Failure"

Leviathan A.C was formed in Venezuela in 1999, forged in primordial darkness, blasphemy, and the underground. During its early years, the band released four recordings, most notably God’s End is the Path (2005) through Manitu Records, accompanied by extreme live performances in Venezuela and Colombia.
In 2009, the band signed with the Swedish label Salute Records and released Through the Unholy Rules We Shall Rise, solidifying a raw, hostile, and more compositionally refined Black Metal sound. Following the relocation of Nebirus (vocals/guitar) to Spain, the project entered a long period of silence until its rebirth in 2024 with the EP The Rise of Leviathan, an impious and oppressive work that restores the sonic violence of the band’s early days.
Currently, Leviathan A.C is preparing the release of the album God’s Failure (January 23, 2026), issued by Vacula Productions, Artes Negras Prods, Impaled Records, and Nekromantra Records. With a renewed lineup, the band is ready to return to the stage, channeling devotion and blasphemy through absolute Black Metal rituals, without compromise or redemption.

Leviathan A.C. (Spain)

T: Why the name Leviathan A.C? Any special meaning and who chose it?

L: Leviathan A.C represents the primordial chaos, the force that exists before and after any god. It symbolizes the negation of imposed order and religious morality. A.C. stands for Anti-Christ/Ancient Cult. The name was consciously chosen by the band from the very beginning as a declaration of principles.

T: What bands and styles have influenced you since you decided to form the band?

L: Mainly the Norwegian, Finland, Greece, Ukraine and Polish Black Metal scenes. Bands like Bathory, Hellhammer, Venom, Marduk, Enthrone, Gorgoroth, Tsjuder, Sargeist, have been important influences. We do not seek to imitate anyone, we absorb those influences and reshape them into something that belongs to us.

T: What do you hope to achieve with your musical proposal when it is heard in other countries around the world?

L: We are not looking for approval or commercial recognition. Our purpose is to transmit darkness, hatred toward religious dogma and the spirit of rebellion. If someone somewhere in the world connects with that energy, that is enough.

T: Why did you enter the world of metal and what keeps you motivated?

L: Extreme metal has always been a channel for liberation, spiritual violence and a break with imposed structures. We continue because this is not a trend or a temporary phase. It is a way of existence.

T: How would you define your music?

L: Violent, blasphemous and hostile Black Metal. Organic and savage. No compromises.

T: Who is in charge of the artwork for your CD cover “God's Failure”?

L: The artwork was created by a great underground artist called Jhon Quevedo, also creator of the Leviathan logo at the band's inception at 1999 close, who fully understood the anti-religious and decadent concept behind the album.

T: What can you tell us about the experience of recording your CD “God's Failure”?

L: It was an intense and obsessive process. We wanted a sound that felt real, aggressive and dark. The goal was not to polish everything artificially, but to preserve the raw brutality of the music.

T: What are the lyrics of your CD “God's Failure” about?

L: The collapse of gods, the deception of faith, human decadence and the supremacy of chaos over divine order.

T: Which do you prefer writing lyrics or music?

L: Both are essential, but the music usually comes first. The music opens the wound and the lyrics infect it.

T: What inspired you to write the lyrics for the songs “Embrace Of Eternal Darkness” and “God Is Dead”?

L: Absolute rejection of religion, nihilistic philosophy and the conscious embrace of darkness as the only honest truth.

T: What is the relationship between the EP.“The Rise Of Leviathan” and the CD.“God's Failure”?

L: The Rise Of Leviathan was the awakening of the beast. CD."God's Failure" represents the next step, a more mature, brutal and defined manifestation of our sound.

T: What significance does the cover of “God's Failure” represent and who created the artwork?

L: The image symbolizes the collapse of Christian dogma and the decay behind its supposed divinity.

T: How has it been working with the labels? Have you received the support you expected?

L: Within the underground scene the experience has been correct. As long as our artistic vision is respected, the collaboration works.

T: How did you get in contact with Vacula Productions, Arte Negras Prods, Impaled Records and Nekromantra Records? Have you signed for any other albums?

L: Through the usual underground channels, personal contacts and mutual support within the scene. Everything developed organically.

T: What currently inspires the band to continue working in the underground Black and Death Metal scene?

L: The need to keep the spirit of true Black Metal alive, far from trends and commercial expectations.

T: What motivated you to venture into the world of metal and what keeps you motivated to continue?

T: Rage, isolation and a deep rejection of imposed beliefs. That same energy still drives the band today.

T: How did your latest CD.“God's Failure” go? I hear a very technical evolution and a more brutal Black/Death sound. What do you think about it?

L: We see it as a natural evolution. The album is more aggressive, more technical and more focused than our previous material. It represents a stronger identity for Leviathan A.C.

T: How many copies were made of your CD.“God's Failure”? And how many have been sold?

L: It was released as a limited underground edition. Most of the copies have already circulated through the scene.

T: What can you tell us about the scene in La Rioja, Spain? Do you think it is less known than other European scenes?

L: It is a small scene, but persistent. It may not be widely known, but there is dedication and authenticity behind it.

T: What other bands in Spain do you see with future projection in the scene?

L: There are many strong underground bands in Spain. There are many bands in the shadows. To name a few within the Spanish Black Metal scene, I could mention: Numen, Balmog, Empty, Regent Death, Saetaier, Ouija, Xerion, Nakkiga, Grimuack, Hrzigh, Blazemth.

T: What do you think about the national Black/Death Metal scene in your country?

L: It is powerful and often underestimated.

T: What continues to motivate the band to stay active on the extreme scene in Spain and worldwide?

L: The need to create something real and dark.

T: Would you like to come to South America one day to spread your music there?

L: Absolutely. South America has always been a stronghold for extreme metal and true dedication to the underground spirit.

T: What is the new thing Leviathan is preparing to record?

L: We are preparing a strong repertoire for those live performances, something powerful, full of force, and solid in sound. We want to create an experience where the audience immerses themselves in dark atmospheres, taking them on a journey to the underworld from the beginning to the end of the concerts, making our dedication to rehearsals and our total commitment evident in these sonic and visual rituals within the most blasphemous Black Metal.

T: Thank you very much for answering the interview for “The Legion Of TchorT” 'Zine. Any final words for our readers? Where can they get merchandise from your band?

L: Extreme metal is not entertainment. It is a form of spiritual warfare.
Thanks to everyone who continues supporting the underground and keeping the flame alive.
Our merchandise and releases can be obtained through direct contact with the band and our underground distribution channels.
